Lubień tunnel, Poland

Radio Coverage of the Lubień tunnel

SEE Telecom with its local partner RadioPartners provided the radio coverage of the newly built road tunnel under the Luboń Mały mountain in Poland.

The tunnel is a part of the S7 highway which connects Krakow to ski resort Zakopane and the Slovak border.

The road tunnel is composed of 2 tubes of 2057m in length. The radiocommunication system designed by SEE Telecom performs the retransmission of:

  • Four FM channels with emergency break-in feature enabling transmission of emergency messages in both road tunnel tubes
  • Seven VHF simplex service channels
  • Four VHF duplex service channels
  • One UHF local repeater for maintenance and operational purposes

The tunnel significantly facilitates (40 minutes faster) the passage of long-distance cross-border as well as regional traffic between Kraków and Zakopane.
